Special Spirit Day-Friday, May 2nd
For the past two years, there has been a Principal for the Day auction item on the PTO annual spring auction. This year's Principal for the Day is Jesus Torres in Ms Altobello's class! The Principal for the Day chooses a spirit day and accompanying charity as a part of their prize.
Jesus has chosen an Acts of Kindness spirit day in which staff and students are being asked to wear green and commit an act of kindness throughout the day. Jesus' charity is the SATO project. http://thesatoproject.org/the-sato-project-sanctuary/
The SATO project accepts donations of dog collars, bones, dog treats, lysol wipes, and paper towels. Jesus will be accepting these donations at the start of the school day on Friday.  We look forward to participating in this special spirit day!

Our school wide month of reading Olympics came to a close last week with winners being honored at our closing ceremonies! It was a great month and we encourage students to keep reading! I would like to thank Mrs Dganit Toledano, Mrs Kim Ketchen, and Ms Ella Steim for organizing such a fun month of events and for tallying up all of those reading logs each week-it was a lot of work! Thank you to the PTO for funding the prizes!

Hello! I hope you enjoyed the (somewhat) nicer weather this weekend.

Last Day of School
Pending no more snow days (I am hopeful) the last day of school will be Friday, June 27th!

Watertown Strong Run
A parent, Diego Hammerschlag, has volunteered to put together a Lowell Leopards team for the Watertown Police Watertown Strong 5K road race on Saturday, April 19th at 10 am. The Lowell Times
The first edition of the Lowell Times, a student written newspaper, is hot off the presses and will be going home this week, most likely on Thursday!

Hello! It finally feels like spring this week, although we still have a pretty large snow mound still left on the field.

There will be a number of road closures in Watertown today and tomorrow for the funeral of Lt Edward Walsh, Boston firefighter and Watertown native.  This link will give you all of the information related to street closures.
