Second Grade Parent Coffee
There will be a principal's coffee this Thursday at 8:20 am in the Lowell lounge. Topics covered include curriculum, assessment, instruction, social-emotional learning, and transition to third grade. I hope to see many second grade parents and guardians there!

Special Spirit Day-Friday, May 2nd
For the past two years, there has been a Principal for the Day auction item on the PTO annual spring auction. This year's Principal for the Day is Jesus Torres in Ms Altobello's class! The Principal for the Day chooses a spirit day and accompanying charity as a part of their prize.
Jesus has chosen an Acts of Kindness spirit day in which staff and students are being asked to wear green and commit an act of kindness throughout the day. Jesus' charity is the SATO project. http://thesatoproject.org/the-sato-project-sanctuary/
The SATO project accepts donations of dog collars, bones, dog treats, lysol wipes, and paper towels. Jesus will be accepting these donations at the start of the school day on Friday.  We look forward to participating in this special spirit day!

School Site Council Meeting CHANGE

Reading Challenge Closing Ceremony
Our school wide month of reading Olympics came to a close last week with winners being honored at our closing ceremonies! It was a great month and we encourage students to keep reading! I would like to thank Mrs Dganit Toledano, Mrs Kim Ketchen, and Ms Ella Steim for organizing such a fun month of events and for tallying up all of those reading logs each week-it was a lot of work! Thank you to the PTO for funding the prizes!

Watertown Strong Road Race
The Lowell school had a team of runners in last week's 5K! Here is a picture of some "Leopards" at the finish line!
